Sesuai judulnya, Collected Extended Plays 2008-2020 adalah arsip lengkap EP dari MVRCK yang sebelumnya dirilis secara mandiri sepanjang dua belas tahun terakhir (pengecualian untuk The Illustration, dirilis tahun 2011 oleh Monoclockmusic, label elektronik asal Ukraina yang telah gulung tikar). Pengarispan menjadi dorongan utama MVRCK karena banyak dari materi di album ini sudah hilang peredarannya di internet dan hanya tersisa final master-nya di komputer pribadinya.

Album kompilasi ini tersusun atas dua puluh enam komposisi, memperlihatkan fase awal perkembangan musik garapan MVRCK serta ekspermintasinya hingga ke ranah yang lebih terstruktur lewat jalur IDM dan instrumental hip hop.
